Hitting refresh when uploading documents to ePR system

Post by WoShiDavid95 » Mon, 07 Dec 2020 11:50 am

Hello, I'd like to ask if refreshing the page will affect the submission of documents; is anyone familiar with how the software/website works at ICA?

Basically during my ePR submission two days ago, I had uploaded all the documents and was about to submit them, but in the middle of submitting, my phone suddenly connected to a distant WirelessSG through WiFi and it was stuck loading, forcing me to refresh the page and disconnect to use mobile data. (Yes it really happened, my phone had to suddenly connect to a WiFi network when I clicked submit of all times, such bad luck)

Upon refreshing, it seems like all my uploaded documents are still there so I didn't think much about it and proceeded to the page where it said 'You have successfully uploaded your documents' and paid the $100 processing fee.

Now however, I have this nagging feeling on what if hitting refresh accidentally affected the submission of documents? There is no way to check to see what documents you have submitted to the ePR system after submission and this uncertainty is making me really uneasy and I fear that missing documents will cause my application to be outright rejected.

I wanted to call ICA but their lines are always busy, so here I am I guess 😓 Or will they not allow you to make payment without uploading a document in every required category? In which case, nothing to worry about but I have no idea if that's true so it's making me ](*,) Or will ICA contact you in case there are missing documents? But what if all documents are missing thanks to hitting refresh, they surely will just reject outright because to them it shows a clear inability to follow instructions instead of a minor oversight (Since they have no idea that this whole WiFi thing happened)? I'm assuming they won't let you proceed for payment to process the application in that case but again, I have no idea if that's actually true 😖

I guess if anyone has any idea or advice, that'd be nice...

1) Once you've started uploading documents, Form 4A is already locked in the system. So, no worries.

2) Once you've completed uploading documents, they are already in the system too unless you want to replace/ delete the uploaded documents until you click proceed for payment. So, no worries too.

And here is the ICA PR email address for additional documents submission: [email protected], if want to check with them about your refresh issue.

All the best for your application. I just did my 10th application last week.

Thanks, all the best for yours too... did you use Option 1 or Option 2 though? I used Option 2; I filled up my application online instead of downloading the form to fill up offline.

I used Option 1. After uploading Form 4A, it will be exactly same as Option 2, I believe.

Ah... so in essence before payment, the uploaded documents are always there even if you close the page and come back before the 7 days time limit clears your drafts, so nothing to worry about? Though I guess the refresh thing I'll have to check with ICA to confirm...
