What are the chances of my application to be approved?

Also, working in a marketing department but falls under construction sector, will this improve my approval chance as there is shortage of worker in construction sector?

Anecdotal evidence suggests that you would have a good chance of getting it due to ethnicity and citizenship.
If you apply now, it will take around a year for them to review by which time you will have received to Notices for Tax and been in Singapore for almost 3 years.

aiyah MC, young in mid 20's, got job in SG, sure get one. Make sure you clean and dont have any police case or any other issue in sg. Some got gang fight lah, assault girl friend lah then she report. If record clean you sure get (ultimately). In rare case maybe go to second application but first one also high chance. Sal hardly matter bcos they know u got future here have job. Another ask u study in sg, if yes its a plus if no does not matter much though. Construction industry also ++ as you are local (some will argue but trust me MC, any pass, no pass, also local ).

Studied in Malaysia, Diploma only. Chance will be lowered?

Diploma from my home country which is also recognised by MOM not sure if that matters. Diploma has a lower chance?

Might have initial rejection but probably success on 2nd application. Degrees almost always skate through without problems. Diploma might be a little harder (being male also harder - not walking baby oven). Women definitely have it easier as they are considered potential brood stock by the Gahment.

You do have a valid point re: construction industry, however marketing is a transferable skillset so they probably won't look at it that way as it's given that most who get their PR almost always quit within 6~12 months to take up another job. Good Luck in any case. Still worth buying a ticket and giving it a try but unless you have worked here for 2 years (or three tax assessments) it's not likely to go through successfully.

Not sure if it makes a difference I have an elder sister who has worked here for almost 10 years as a WP holder. Her husband's application has been approved recently. Not sure if all this makes a difference, but since you asked.

Her husband will sponsor her in the future not sure going with the LTVP route first or PR straight,that is only after everything has settled.

Nope. As mentioned, my sister is a WP holder and therefore she's not eligible to apply for PR, so she excluded herself from her husband's application.

That was 2-3 yrs back.
HIs sister whole family also in SIngapore and is PR.

So.. work long in Singapore, apply with family, with children, Malaysia Chinese, family member is PR.. does not mean you will get PR.

Tax paid, I was confused whether I wasn't eligible for tax or I didn't need to file myself (auto-file by employer something). In the end it was filed automatically by my employer and paid.

I am aware that the application isn't affected by other factors such as having siblings or relatives working in Singapore hence I said "not sure if it makes a difference but since you asked".

I've already applied 3 months ago, just asking here if anyone has an idea what my approval rate would be.

therat, that letter is sent to anybody who's tax reportable income is via wages only. If your Singapore reportable income is solely via IR8A, the odds are you will not be required to file, but you will get a tax bill from the IRAS but you don't have to physically file yourself. This is because the employers are required to submit the IR8As to IRAS shortly after the close of the tax years (normally 31 Dec of the previous year. He may or may not receive a tax bill. This would depend on his total wage income for the next year of assessment.
