The last covid19 cluster in the dorm has closed which means there are not more active cluster since 3 Feb 2020. Certainly looking forward to normalcy soon...Slowly, but surely.

Similar, but not quite comparable I reckon. Aussie and NZ are a fair bit bigger, have way lower population density, and both countries are located at the world's periphery so to speak.

Still, yeah, way to go Aussie and NZ. They're doing much better than most countries by far.

Hong Kong, japan and Taiwan were doing very well also, but unfortunately it looks like they're on the verge of losing control all over again.

But for a country that's as packed and as centrally located as Singapore to clear itself of Covid-19 completely and even manage to boast a sustained uninterrupted run of zero local cases for over 2 weeks is nothing short of exceptional.

That said, it's still early innings eh.

There were a lot of hi-5s and “gold standard” back in April, before the dorm clusters.

I wouldn’t be overly excited just yet.

Our current stifling restrictions will remain for a long time. He even seems to suggest restrictions could stay indefinitely.

I can't help but feel, this conservative approach will be a growing drawback for Singapore & make residency less attractive in this tiny congested nation, if/when other nations & regions opens up more expeditiously in 2021. We'll see.

With the density of Covid cases outside Singapore continuing to grow, there is a greater the risk of the virus slipping back in... and that risk is not limited to human-to-human. Singapore is especially vulnerable due to high population density and high dependency/interconnectivity with the rest of the world. Is spite of that, we have been very fortunate here - it’s during these times that Singapore shines through. This crisis will pass, it’s just a matter of time. In the mean time, we just have to try to find ways to adapt and make the best of the current situation.
