Dependent Pass LOC

Post by Charvi » Tue, 24 Nov 2020 12:41 am

Hi,
I’m a dependent pass holder currently working on LOC. I have another job opportunity which requires my current employer to cancel LOC so new employer can apply.
Is there a way I can get approval from government before I get cancellation from my current employer (similar to EP IP-A) ?
If not is it advisable to change employer at this time as government seems to be very strict with foreigners and might not approve my LOC.
Has anyone on DP recently changed job and faced problems with LOC ?
Kindly answer.
Thank you

No. Sadly, you must cancel the current LOC before the new employer can apply for the new LOC. The LoC is directly tied to the employer. It's a chance you have to take if your partner doesn't have enough common sense to not rock the boat during a worldwide pandemic which is causing economic tsunamis all around the world. You will also need to remember that Singapore will be looking to protect it citizens first and if the rest can survive so be it, otherwise, you will be unable to get a new LoC. It is what it is.
