Change Job during PR application

Post by MaureenLim » Thu, 19 Nov 2020 8:47 pm

Hi All,

I plan to change job and my new company alr applied my S pass now.
Should I still go ahead with my PR application with current employer?

Short Introduction
- I am a Malaysian, Female, studied 3 years Polytechnic here. Recently just finished my part time degree and have been work for current company for more than 2 years. Have been in Sg for 6years++.

My job switch is from Account Assistant to Business Analyst with little salary increase. I knew that I would need to explain to ICA why I change job and provide documents for new employment if I change job during PR application.

What is the better solution if I want to apply PR? Should I still go ahead with my PR application with current employer? Or I should apply PR after I joined the new company? Is there any period that I need to work for new company before I can apply PR? (btw my new boss is encouraging me to apply PR cos he don't want to pay levy)

Work for 6 months - 1 year with new employer and then apply for PR. Account Assistant to Business Analyst looks like a change in work nature and scope too.
