Yeah! I want to know the people's psyche who vote for a person like Trump. 50% of Americans approve of him. So, is it like they dont know that he is lying, or they know that he is a liar but still vote for him for some other reason.
People outside the U.S. can never understand, because they don’t have to live with the domestic policy consequences - they just see things from a distance, on a superficial level at best.

It’s not that so many people like Trump or approve of everything he says, it’s about conservative ideals that he and the party supports. Singapore is actually very conservative, so if you like it here, you may be more of a Republican than you realize.

Yep. I can vouch for that.

I cannot believe this is such a closely contested election given the chaos Trump had created in the last 4 years.

Always thought it will be a landslide victory for whoever nominated against him.

It's not only in the US. It's been happening in many developed countries for a decade or more already. It's not voting for someone but rather than this, against something.

If you read up on Biden, he is actually more conservative than many people realize, in fact liberals were quite disappointed by his nomination, as they felt he was not liberal enough. Don’t be surprised if he carries on many of the same policies like China tariffs, building the wall, “caging” of illegals (which incidentally was started by Obama and him). I also wouldn’t expect any major differences in how Covid is handled either. Maybe the main difference will be less crazy tweets, controversies & media frenzy. Less divisiveness would be great, but dems are truly awful at that - a prime example is how Biden called Trump xenophobic after he stopped flights from China in January.
