So in answer to everybody's question about how long does it take re: ep, dp, sp, etc, etc, the answer is "how long is a piece of string?". It will be ready when it is ready.

Hi all - I am a massive fan of these threads!

Wanted to run my case by you to group think what is going on here.

Changing jobs - applied for New EP on 3/11/2020.

On the 4th they asked to re-submit my passport details as image wasn't clear - did this within an hour of the ask.

On the 10th they reached out to my future employer (who is a small, recently incorporated in Singapore, but recognized name globally, investment firm) asking for information about place of business, bank statements and some invoices. The employer submitted all of these documents on the 12th.

Today is the 17th and we have heard nothing back from the MOM.

Some additional pieces of information:

I am Indian
Lived in SG for 2 years and have received EPs within 6 days on both occasions prior
14 years of work experience
Salary is $30K+/month
Degrees - MBA and Bachelors from Top 3 US University.
Field of work - Investment & Fund Management (Financial Services)
When I put my details on the MOM SAT - it passed

What do you think the hold up is? My sense is because the company is small - they are largely focused on that? Has anyone seen anything of the sort?

Why is it 'amazing' news?

Can someone guide me.

My EP is still tied with Company X Body shopper.

my Current End Client is Company A, As X offered me another role in Company B,So i resigned from Company A serving notice period.

Right now i got offer with Company Y with good package.
So they will be applying EP for me.

lets say get EP approved on my first day of working in Company B.
So I cannot tell Company B that i got offer , so I am resigning .

What is the best way to handle this situation.

why are you so bitter? can't people find some happiness in these otherwise troubling times?

This sounds way confusing - I wouldn't resign from your current employer until the EP is approved and you have the IPA. No need to do anything until that point - then follow your contract e.g. there will be a termination notice period you must provide to your employer.

I thought it was amazing because in trying times, when people find ways to move forward, big or small I like celebrating them...that is why it is amazing news.

Honestly if you have nothing good to say or value accretive - including your "how long is a piece of string" comment which has turned into a *eyeroll* feature on every forum - I would appreciate if you said nothing at all.

only NDA with End Client,
contract is with Company X, if i leave within a year, I have to pay one month salary,
which i am okay with, as I don't much choice, prefer a permanent job though.
