EP and DP renewal processing time - Nov 2020

Post by ksw101 » Tue, 03 Nov 2020 1:12 pm

Hello,

How long does it take to renew EP these days?

My EP renewal application submitted on 29 Oct and my expiry date is 1 Dec.

I guess EP renewal would be fine although it's a bit tight, and my concern is my 2 kids are DP holders and attend local school. If DP is not renewed until expiry date and remain pending status, can my kids still attend school or they will lost seats?

Thanks in advance for your answers and feedback.
Cheers!

Hi

Ideally you should get it this week.

I have applied for a new EP (change of job in Singapore) on Nov 6th . Will update when this gets approved. But I guess it takes 7-10 working days.

Before applying for my EP, I was asked to do the RMI verification of my degree. That took ~3 weeks.
Applied for EP on 9th November. Keeping my fingers crossed as my current pass expires on 30th November. Please send positive vibes!

Which country are you from?

Who asked you to do the RMI verification?

I am from India. Was asked to do this process by my new employer as they were unable to proceed with my application without the verification proof. Came as a surprise as I was not asked to verify prior to applying for EP before.

Also, RMI is very efficient. Verification timeline depends on the responsiveness of your university to be honest.

That's amazing, congratulations!

Is the company applying an MNC or a small company? What field are you in? Have you been in SG for long?

What I have seen is it generally takes between 5 - 15 working days. Some of the bigger companies' applications can be faster. In my previous application as well it took 9 working days .

For smaller companies probably they need to do additional verifications etc.

Even my first one was approved in 3 days, renewal was approved in 9 days. This time its now 7 days so far, but not yet approved. Hoping it gets approved by today, not sure it would happen.

I'm currently in Singapore and changing employers - new company applied for EP, approved on the 6th working day. Now we are waiting for the DPs (previously DP took 1 day but this time already 2 working days so far)
