Has anyone got any experience working in bank research departments in Singapore?
I have some job offers lined up (mainly foreign banks based in Singapore) but wanted to unfiltered feedback on the work environment in the country? I'm particularly interested in insights on people they've experienced.
I've had some experience in the US and UK, where colleagues can be sometimes difficult but fair.
What has me a bit concerned is that some people have warned me about certain employees, especially those who have been government sponsored scholars (is this even the correct term?), and how they can look down on people who aren't scholars.
I'm sure there are always bad eggs, but it seems banks in Singapore have a number of these scholars and I'm wondering if this is something I can mentally prepare for.
