Hi everyone, I am currently on S-Pass (Earning around 2800 SGD). I'm from China and I've been in Singapore for over 18 years, I came when I was 6 years old and remained in Singapore throughout. Female.
Recently my boyfriend proposed and we would like to ROM soon. My boyfriend is Male Singaporean, 26 years old(Singapore Born + Parents singaporean too) However, my boyfriend lost his job during the pandemic and he is currently jobless. Recently, he started doing some freelance business consultation for businesses and his old contacts.
What are our chances of obtaining LTVP? I heard there is required salary/cpf contribution. If not, can I still stay in SG on my S-Pass after getting married?
Right now, should my boyfriend declare as self-employed? What can we do to improve our chance of obtaining LTVP?
Please kindly advise.
Forever grateful,
Anna

Stay on your S pass until such time as your spouse is working again and making a decent salary. No problem with that. Declaring as self employed without a track record will not solve anything.

Hi Anna,
To enhance your chance to qualify as LTVP, it is recommended for your boyfriend to incorporate a company for his consulting business. Talk to a reliable consultant (Sanitized by moderator) if you have no clue how to get started.
The reason being, he will need to show a valid registration certificate from ACRA and the company’s P&L Statement for the past year to ICA, as a self-employed LTVP sponsor.
Regardless, you can still stay in SG with your S Pass as long as you are still attached to your current company.
Hope it helps.
