NS liable for spouse scheme PR

Post by jubilee123 » Thu, 08 Oct 2020 1:48 pm

Hi,
I'm 33, European EP holder and my wife (Singaporean, married a little over a year) applied for me under the spouse scheme 11 months ago. I just received my IPA letter for my PR application. As I understand, I am not exempted from NS as exemptions don't apply for the spouse scheme. What's the chance I have to do NS once the PR is granted?
Thanks a lot.

Yes you are not exempted but it is unlikely you will be called up for NS as you are over 30 years. So relax and enjoy. :)

Won't happen. You won't be called up. You do have to apply for exemption and it used to be going via a visit to the CMPB on Depot Rd but I think that's changed and it's all paper work now.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
