Pr holder but already left singapore

Post by xiamen.ng » Tue, 29 Sep 2020 8:24 am

Hi all,

I heard some of my friends got PR but they went back to their countries for few years and still holding pr status. I even know someone who is Chinese nationality, she went back to China for 4 years after getting pr and Ica sent her a letter to ask her come back singapore Just wondering why ica still give pr to such person? So many ppl here are desperately wanting a pr status and yet ppl who got it have left the countries? Totally unfair !!!!

Just to be clear. It's not about if you want PR status. It's about whether you meet the criteria they set. I want to be an astronaut but NASA won't let me join. At the time your friends were given PR, it seems that they met the criteria. There was a time when it was being handed out like confetti. There are cases back in 2000s where PR application forms were given to some people when they collected their EPs.

In any case, those people that leave for extended periods, will most likely not have their REP renewed.

This part is probably a lie or miunderstanding; "Ica sent her a letter to ask her come back singapore" - what the letter really means is "come back or lose your REP".
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!
