We've agreed to move into a new (recently built) condo and one of the real estate agents that we rejected responded with this when they heard what condo we'd had an offer accepted on...
"that's a newly TOP project. Normally people that are pregnant or have a baby are reluctant to rent that due to smell/Formaldehyde. Normally buyer would let it vacant and ventilated for a few months before moving in"
Is that just pure sour grapes or is that actually standard practise in Singapore in terms of allowing the place to be vacant/ventilated for many months before renting? Am I safe in assuming that Singapore standards would be pretty rigorous when it comes to testing the air quality of a condo after a build is completed? Or should I pay for a contractor to test it before we move in?

It dissipates quickly.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Buy one of these inexpensive TOVC monitors. If it shows elevated values do the tests.danel wrote: ↑Mon, 28 Sep 2020 9:01 pmWe've agreed to move into a new (recently built) condo and one of the real estate agents that we rejected responded with this when they heard what condo we'd had an offer accepted on...
