Well get the baked pistachios from tong garden is usually good. Reduces your snacking speed if you have to break the shell so you consume slower but its addictive tho!abbby wrote: ↑Fri, 25 Sep 2020 12:30 pmGood suggestion, only problem is when I snack on nuts and seeds, they are always salted nuts and seeds.malcontent wrote: ↑Fri, 25 Sep 2020 12:28 pmYou don’t need fear of high blood pressure or fear of too much salt as a reason to keep your potato chip consumption at a minimum... there are plenty of other reasons! When you feel the need to snack, try some nuts, seeds and fruits.![]()

Diabetes isn’t reversible, once you have it, you’ll never get your HbA1c down to normal levels.midlet2013 wrote: BP , Diabetes are all reversible if u eat sensibly. And its not salt, its the potato and the vegetable oil in ur chips.
BP is managed by an interplay of many body organs operating in a feedback loop, not just one single factor. By the time you have high BP, some organs are already affected.

Re: Innocent looking chips could raise blood pressure?
Insulin Resistance is not diabetes. It often precedes diabetes but it doesn't need to end up this way. And a simple explanation to your results could be you were just misdiagnosed. This happened to my wife nicely shitting her insurance records.
I am well familiar with low carb / high fat diets, have been doing it by myself for years and there is a lot of associated benefits but let me tell you using your own language: don't spread BS this is some sort of panacea. Don't give people false hope based on your specific experience or some Internet cases that you had not and would never had any meaningful insight into. If your beta cells in pancreatic islets are dead no diet will help to restore their functionality.

Innocent looking chips could raise blood pressure?
Sorry,midlet2013 wrote:@bbcdoc
diabetes is reversible or atleast put into remission. u can go to normal a1c . there r 1000s of examples. by eating LowCarb High Fat diet.
dont spew nonsense confidently.
even if u have BP or Diebetes, its best to eat sensibly n control to normal than takr meds n keep eating carbohydrates . which only makes things worse
I work in the healthcare field. We study peer reviewed studies on large populations in alignment with the positions of global healthcare organisations such as WHO and US FDA. We also conduct our own studies.
Agree that diet and lifestyle is essential to manage chronic diabetes, but certainly don’t agree that the data supports reversing or putting diabetes into remission.
1000 patients versus millions of data points is not enough to stake a solid educational position yet. Need a controlled interventional study to make bold claims such as yours.
You can try to approach Singapore HPB to see if they buy into your evidence to promote to the public, that will tell you if your data is good or not.

Perhaps you should read the Singapore Code of Advertising Practices to understand how medical products and claims are regulated in Singapore.midlet2013 wrote:I feel sorry for your narrow vision or rather lack of vision. Go for conventional wisdom and all the wonderful data you guys have.
But I am not surprised. Its always the exceptions who bring change in thinking. Maybe in 20 years time, you will sing a different tune. Until then, get ur medical advice from what the majority things.
I hope you aren’t running a business based purely upon the agenda you are pushing here.

I am just an individual . No agenda. I am not even saying the alternative information is right. I just think people should learn more and then see if diet changes can help. It helped me and many others. so worth looking at diet as an option

Re: Innocent looking chips could raise blood pressure?
anyways, I would not like to argue anymore. people should do whatever medical experts and their own intuition tells them.
good luck
