EP with Criminal Record/Non Conviction

Post by Sheeba16 » Mon, 14 Sep 2020 3:48 pm

Hi there,

I’ve been reading posts on this forum but it’s difficult to align my situation with the other posters.

Essentially I may have an opportunity to move to Singapore, however I’m worried that a police check in my current country (Australia) would appear unfavourable for my EP application.

It’s a fairly recent charge for property damage (very minor amount, damaged value was $180). I received a non conviction, however it’ll still show on my police report.

I’m wonder a) do you declare this when asked if you’ve been convicted in a court of law (as it wasn’t a conviction) and b) what are the odds of this resulting in my visa being declined?

Thanks in advance for your replies and help.

Did you look at some of the topics at the bottom of this page? The section called "similar topics"?

Hi,

Yes I have; I have been through many of them multiple times. I guess I'd remove the second part of my question -- no one seems to be able to guess what MoM will do... But appreciate anyone's sort of insights if they do have any.

I've still been unable though to find an instance in the similar threads (or throughout this forum) of someone receiving a non-conviction. Thus I'm wondering whether this still goes against you in an EP application.
