Not really. Credentials are really just an opportunity to get a foot in the door. The demand for jobs is higher, more people are searching, and thus, companies can use increasingly stringent criteria when hiring.

What really matters is your creativity, your imagination, your ability to create relationships, and your willingness to take risks. Most people want to risk free environment, then wonder why they don't get anywhere. Learning to get along with all sorts of people is key in order to form good business relationships.

I would note that there are many rich people who do not have a degree. Most of taken risk and started out on their own. But money and power are meaningless as goals in themselves. It is much more important to find something that you have a passion about doing. That way, you'll do your best, and money and power will accrue to you, that's what you want.

Well said. In the West now, many MNC's are recruiting based on EQ (Emotion Quotient) more so than IQ. EQ is the ability to get along and interact with others esp. in this globalised world where the structure of Co's is flattened and everyone has to work as "one team".

One very rich businessman was quoted as saying "Money is not important to me, I have enough, I use it to keep a score on Life". Take your pick whichever way he meant.
