Hi all,
Long time lurker here. Unfortunately, I only stumbled across this forum after applying for PR - and have since spent months agonising over the potential mistakes I made in the application process!
Posting my profile and timeline in case it helps others.
Applied in Jan 2020. Married a few months prior to application.
Husband (primary applicant)
Age: early 30’s
Nationality: Western country
Race: Mixed (Half Chinese, Half “Others”)
Employment: Media MNC, Analytics
Time in Singapore (as at Sept 2020): 2 years - one NOA at time of application
Highest Qualification: Bachelors (double degree)
Wife (spouse applicant)
Age: earlier 30’s
Nationality: Western country
Race: Chinese
Employment: Media MNC, Sales
Time in Singapore (as at Sept 2020): 3 years - two NOA at time of application
Highest Qualification: Bachelors (double degree)
Other info:
-Combined base salary is approx ~350k, with a slightly heavier weighting towards primary applicant
-Received a request for family CV from ICA in June. Responded in a few days.
Was very happy and relieved to get the IPA in the last week.
Things I was was worried about while waiting for results:
Should I have waited a bit longer to apply? Proximity to marriage and not enough NOA (or does this only apply more to family ties PR)
Would application have been stronger if my wife had been the primary applicant? Race + time in SG was in her favour.
