PR application rejected, completed diploma in RP and working in semi con.

Post by imsanal » Tue, 01 Sep 2020 7:51 am

Hi all,

Yesterday I got my PR application rejected letter in mailbox. Was really surprised I would say, since I completed my diploma from RP, acquired a job in reputed semicon company, been working for last one year. All my international student batch mates from poly who got a job have a singaporean PR in hand and only my one got rejected.

Any help or insights would be welcomed.

I would like to add some personal info for some clarification upfront. I'm married and my spouse working in sg for last 5 years on SPass. I opted to study diploma and to work after that is to stay together with my partner. I don't know whether that caused the pr application rejected. I applied for PR alone but gave my partners IC and job details in application.

Spouse = partner = same person right? Just wanted to be sure. If yes, exclaiming your spouse in an application is almost destined for rejection.

So all in how long have you been in Singapore?

What are the nationalities and races of your batch mates?

‘Reputed’ semi company - are you from India or South Asia?

Yeah, spouse and partner is same 😀
My partner applied PR separately and its status is pending.

I've been staying in Singapore for 4 years now, (3 years diploma + 1 year work)

I'm from India. My batch mates also from India.

I didn't exclaim my spouse in application. It's just my spouse applied pr separately. I did provide all my spouse's information and credentials in my application. Same have been done in my spouse's application.

But I think now we should have applied together as one application.

They cannot be earning the same amount as you and get accepted as PRs. The salary is way way too low for PR acceptance for your ethnic group.
There is something additional in their applications that got them accepted.
If they all only have bachelor's degree from India, it seems unlikely they would get PR as they are competing against many Indian origin applicants who have masters degrees.

Are they married to locals?
Maybe they are not telling you everything about what they put in their application...

Also excluding your spouse is a red flag to them ... that you will try to avoid NS for your (future) son.

There is a PR scheme for foreign students studying in local schools/poly/university. If your classmates are younger and on that scheme, they may have a higher chance of approval. Based on your info, you were already a bachelor's degree holder from your country who pursued a poly diploma in Singapore.

Yes. All of them are 3-4 years younger than me and single.
