Re: Demand for engineering jobs?
Yes, for those with better than average qualifications & experience. No if you are from a 'reputed' university.

SOME PEOPLE TRY TO TURN BACK THEIR ODOMETERS. NOT ME. I WANT PEOPLE TO KNOW WHY I LOOK THIS WAY. I'VE TRAVELED A LONG WAY, AND SOME OF THE ROADS WEREN'T PAVED. ~ Will Rogers
Re: Demand for engineering jobs?
Can you specify what kind of engineering?
Re: Demand for engineering jobs?
Every type except for Nuclear. EE, ME, Chem, Civil and the sub disciplines (PE, bio etc) are all employed here.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Re: Demand for engineering jobs?
hard to say. I can speak about civil engineering. "Conventional" civil engineering such as construction, structural, geotechnical, i think the locals do a great job and have excellent track record.
More to be found on circularity, climate change, waste and in connection to civil engineering (e.g. shoreline protection, rainwater management due to climate change etc).
Chemical engineering .. i think especially if you are looking into medical/pharma, always job (worldwide)
Re: Demand for engineering jobs?
Wona11 - engineers do all sorts of things outside their primary domain. The primary education engineering schools teach (or should be) are analysis and logic coupled with thinking skills. Of course I can't speak for India, they probably have to memorize log tables and steam tables and never learn logic.

Re: Demand for engineering jobs?
In the semiconductor industry, many engineers are foreigners but they do recruit only experienced engineers from outside Singapore. They can recruit foreign fresh graduates who studied in Singapore polytechnics/universities. The most common engineers they recruit are graduates of EE, ME, ChE courses.
