Hi, we applied for citizenship about 12 months back. Going by some forum posts, seems its early days for us. We may get a reply only after another 12 months
Though of checking some early guesses for the forum members or so.
Applied for a family of 4- myself, spouse and our 2 daughters. Details below
We are Indians, doesn’t seem to be a“preferred” race, again going by the forum posts.
Age - mine 45, wife 43.
Both Bankers, annual contribution to taxes of about 65k.
Kids going to local school
Both of us have been associated with a grassroots organisation as observers for last 3 years
PR for 9 years and in Singapore for last 11 years. Own a house here.
Do we stand any chance?

With 11 years I'd say your chances are fair, but with the negative points you have already noted. Your age may be a factor, but with two school aged children and both schooling locally, I say that is in your favour. Your age may play a slight factor as it seems 45~50 years of age tends to meet with some resistance (but as noted, you already have children and they are already invested into the local school system. Normally people at your income levels also receive some resistance if in the Financial industry because of the ability and habits of some institutions to parachute you into foreign countries whenever they feel the need to. But looking at PR for 9 years and I'm assuming this is your first application, the other question that will surely arise is the length of time before you finally decided to apply for SGC. I'd give you a 70:30 chance of success (assuming both of your children already have their PR as well). Let us know how it goes. Singapore Flyer might have some additional viewpoints and I hope he will add to or disagree with some of my comments. I personally give a lot of weight and respect to his input here.

Like what SMS has said you have a good chance of around 60-70%
What do you and your spouse work as and in which industry?
Few -ve's
Age
Ethnicity
High salary - so it may hint that you may relocate easily, but you have shown that you are different and have stayed here for 11 years.
But, I personally feel you may get it. Good luck !

Thanks SMS, realised I didn’t provide all the details.
This is our 3rd application for citizenship. First 2 were rejected after about 18 months. Last application was rejected about 2 years back. And both our kids are PR.

If you want it, persistence is going to be needed. I feel you will be successful but I also know it's stressful as hell. Good Luck and let us know the outcome, either way. Our readers create our archives and that's how we see trends and provide the information. The long term regulars here came with their questions originally and have stayed on to help pay it forward.

Thanks Singaporeflyer. Both of us are Bankers. I work with a local bank and while my wife works with a foreign bank.
My quick 2cts.
If you don't manage to get it, take heart that you're not alone. A handful of MDs of Indian nationality [in banking] that I know of did not get their applications approved.
Perhaps it's the reduced quotas. Nobody knows for certain.
Of late, there's a lot of attention on bankers from the subcontinent. Am sure you're well aware of that.
Given that the groundswell is on "localizing the banking fraternity", dishing out PRs and Citizenships to banking professionals might give the impression that this is another "loophole" waiting to be exploited.

What are the education details of the applicants and individual salaries?
when was the last rejection?
