Any advise on PR chances? In 2020

Post by zilesis » Wed, 19 Aug 2020 2:07 pm

Hi there,

New to the forum, I am planning to apply PR for my wife and want to know whether to apply now or wait until she has stayed in SG for 2 years.

Husband (applying for wife)
Age: 30
Race: Chinese
Nationality: SC
Education: NUS
Job: Software Engineer
Salary: 104k + Bonus

Wife (Main applicant)
Age: 28
Race: Chinese
Nationality: PRC, Shanghai
Pass: LTVP+
Education: Bachelor's from Shanghai International Studies University, MBA from Bar-Ilan University
Job: Currently not employed in SG, previously was working in Shanghai

Other info
- Married in Singapore, just reaching 2 years
- She has been staying in SG for 1 year 3 months

Saw other forumer mention that there is higher chances after 2 years, so my question is 2 years from our marriage date, or 2 years from when she actually moved to Singapore?

Thank you!

Atleast 2 years from your marriage date. Would suggest to wait for another 6 more months and then apply.

Thanks for the advise, singaporeflyer and sundaymorningstaple.

Can help me understand a bit further, your recommendation for 6 more months its due to the current COVID situation, or the marriage length?

To complete both 2 years of marriage and also her stay in SG. If applying via the SC Spouse sponsorship, I don't think COVID will have a major influence on the application outcome.
