Need serious advice on our ROM / LTVP

Post by iceblue » Fri, 14 Aug 2020 5:01 pm

Hi Guys,

Appreciate any insights or advice for my situation:

1) Me (SG) and my GF (Spass) been together for some time, we applied and got LLE that expires begining of this Nov 2020

2) Initial plan is to ROM Mid Oct 2020 and apply for LTVP straigh after, with LLE processing time around 4 weeks.

3) Today, my GF's company announced downsizing due to COVID19, she suspects that she will be axed given the situation. If she is fired from her job and her employer cancels the Spass the next day and books her a flight ticket back, she will not be able to stay for our ROM. I do not think that her employer will grant those axed foreign employees more time to stay in Singapore, based on her company's experience, those foreign employees are only given a few days to stay in Singapore after their permits and passes got cancelled.

4) Base on COVID19 situation, if she is fired and gets send back to her country, there is almost no chance of applying any passes back to Singapore for ROM

Please advice on the best way to go if she really gets the axe

Get married earlier? Don't go through ROM. Use a celebrant who should be able to do it faster (a ROM listed celebrant).
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I know at the end of an EP you get a 30 day STVP. Is that the same for SPass? If so it will give you some breathing space. Also flights anywhere are hard to come by these days.

Plenty of time to get married if you follow PNGMK's advice.
