This would be an interesting concept if it really can work..

Re: Food Panda on drones?
Some food delivery companies overseas have started using drones and land-robots to deliver food. A great idea and a great way to avoid human contact amidst the pandemic!

Yes! Hopefully this technology can be brought to Singapore soon, it’ll probably streamline the delivery process and cut down on fees!

Re: Food Panda on drones?
Seems like a great idea, though there are some potential drawbacks.
1. What of all the delivery guys and gals who need this gig to provide for themselves/their families?
2. HDB/Condo how? A mini helicopter pad in the project's common area? Rotor blades/Safety?
3. Is the nav system's resolution high enough to pinpoint individual addresses? (Buildings, trees etc)
4. How will the authorities be able to distinguish between a tapow ramen with chicken from Wok Hey and a bundle of spliffs from JB?
5. Accountability in case of battery/mechanical failure (read: crash)?
A lot of potential here to be sure, but it will not be so easy to implement.

Re: Food Panda on drones?
All good points, it will probably take a few years to iron out all these flaws before this system can be implemented. But also, as a response to point 2, the machine need not be a drone, many delivery companies are using “land rovers” to have meals delivered. It’s basically the same insulated bag that foodpanda drivers carry, except on wheels and automated.Max Headroom wrote: ↑Sun, 14 Mar 2021 11:28 amSeems like a great idea, though there are some potential drawbacks.
