I'm British and in my twenties and I'm considering a move to Singapore for a job, but I'm reluctant to go there now because I don't know how much daily life is currently affected by COVID. I'd be arriving in November/ December of this year by the time my visa comes through.
I've been to Singapore a couple of times on holiday and I love it. I particularly liked the locals and expats and how easy it was to make friends with them (through online meet-ups etc) and socialise with people.
If I go I won't know anyone other than colleagues. I'm worried that I'll arrive and I'll be stuck living and working alone in my small apartment for the foreseeable future, which sounds like a depressing existence. I want to get out there and meet people. I'm wondering what the city feels like at the moment, whether the streets, restaurants and bars are getting busier and starting to pick up and if people are beginning to get their lives back to normal.
I'd really appreciate any thoughts on how people are finding life at the moment in Singapore. Thanks!
