July 2020 PR Approved

Post by BananZ » Mon, 27 Jul 2020 10:39 am

Hi guys, hope you all doing great!
I have received my PR result after 6 months.

Here is my info:
Age: 25
Gender: Male
Marriage status: Single
Job: System Analyst
Nationality: Malaysian
Race: Chinese
Religion: Buddhism
Salary: - Average as what you find online, I cant post it here as I am using personal account.
Original Pass: EP with 2 years

Timeline:
21 May 2019 - Started working in SG
08 Jan 2020 - Apply for ePR, after 6 payslips as per requirement. (before increment and paying taxes)
26 July 2020 (Sunday morning) - ePR Status changed to approved! Approved date stated as 13 July 2020. (I refresh every few hours so I know the exact date when it is updated, lol)

Something I've noticed is that in 'https://eservices.ica.gov.sg/ipepr/index.xhtml', before 13 July (approval), it is showing me a dropdown to 'Submit requested documents':

After 13 July, the dropdown is gone:

After checking online and with my friends, I found that the processing time is very random.
One of my friend got it after 3 months, studied in MY, staying in SG for 2 years +.
One of them got it after 4 months, studied in SG, and working for 2 years+, got it right before Covid period.
And other are 6 months to 1 years +. (and some stayed for many many years and still getting rejected)
So... Luck is the key here..

Hope you guys got yours soon!

Wow congratulations! And you got it approved within 6 months. Although your work stint here wasn't very long but it was approved. So I guess it also depends on luck. Maybe country of origin is important too, Malaysia-Singapore has close ties?

I'm not even sure why MY and SG bother with cross border work approvals. They should have an agreement that alllows working rights in both places for citizens of both.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.

Do you check your PR application status regularly during your application time?

Hi congratulations!! Good to hear that!

I also just got my ePR approved too. I have been on and off checking my PR approval status ever since I submitted but it had no news until I stopped checking it since 2-3 weeks ago. And I got surprised when I came home with the IPA letter received then only I realised my PR approval had been approved.
Now just waiting for my appointment with the ICA for the PR formalities.

Just FYI and some basic info of mine:)
I had submitted my PR application around end of Dec 2019 (Only worked for 6 months)
I have been studying diploma under MOH scholarship in Singapore since 2016, started to work as a nurse since Jun 2019.
Was holding EP, Malaysian female, 24 years old in 2020.
Just got a promotion in work, and recently been accepted into NUS part time degree programme.
Until Jul 2020, with working experience for 1 year+ for now)

Waited for 7 months for the PR to be approved.

But I do have friends who applied PR in Jan and still waiting for approval.
Also heard my friends who waited for 3 months to be approved.
There are some of my friends waited for 8 months, some up to one year.
I also have one medical Dr friend who waited for the approval around 1 year before it got approved.

Congrats on your PR approval, jun-jie.gan!

Just curious, but for those of you who had your PR approved, do you give your employment history before working in Singapore?

I did, and I have also provided proof of employment from my last employer (stated salary in MYR) during ePR application.

Hi everyone,
I'm in process of submitting PR application (in between 1 week time).
In the main application form (PDF), I missed mentioning my wife's previous passport details. Can anyone help to know how should I rectify this situation? She has used her previous passport and entered Singapore on a visitor visa.

You suggestions/inputs would greatly help us.

best regards,
HKH

Has your wife changed her name / entered SG with different name?
I bet many Malaysians have entered SG with different Passports (same name but renewed after expiry), I myself can't even remember or recorded all the passport number
I have only submitted my latest / valid Passport info.

Did you receive any update? Is your PR approved? I noticed the submit documents option has been disabled in my application too. Thanks
