Singaporean man works for Chinese Intelligence in the US

Post by abbby » Sun, 26 Jul 2020 10:51 am

I mean..what was he thinking? Did he think he could get away with it? At some point, someone in the US would definitely sell him out.

Actually I don't think the risk was his US contacts (remember they were in it for money which is the purest of motives) but the corrupt PLA handlers who probably turned him in for favours (altruirm and patriotism are easily swayed when you are from a country like China) from the US govt. I doubt we will know the truth. You know he was using LinkedIn.

You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I thought from his qualifications he looked like someone with a rather bright future for a good job. I think China must have been paying him very well that he couldn't refuse. But I think he should have guessed that it would be sooner or later that he would be found out.

They probably seduced him with wine, women and song in KTV lounges. He didn't look like the sort of guy who could find a root in a brothel much less without the help of the PLA.
