ethnicity is the issue i guess.. we're malaysian chinese family (couple and a son), besides age same as yours, nothing else similar to yours, didn't earn as much as you, don't have master/MBA, don't have hdb.. PR since 2016, citizenship applied in Nov'19 and approved in Jun'20, 7 months wait.

You haven't stated your Race which seems to matter more than nationality. (Not trying to be PC, but I've known more than one ethnic Chinese/ hakka Indian citizens residing in singapore).
That is the only thing lacking, else you seem good to go with more than a shoe in.
Were you ever invited to apply for SC in the early years when you were a PR? If you had ignored or rejected back then, it may be a negative.

On the old paper SC forms there used to be a columns for the officer to write down additional details on the ethnicity from nric records (blanketedly labeled 'dialect group'). So i wouldn't be surprised if they have had further quotas on these subdivisions all along too.

All aside, it is reasonable to assume all processing may have been briefly on hold the past few weeks. They may be waiting for new criteria and policy directions from the ministry after the recent elections. Given all the rabble and vitirol filled whatsapp rumors on how certain new citizens were responsible for swaying the recent east coast election results, we can only wait and watch how the future approval trends turn out to be.

No. We were never offered citizenship before.
Yeah. Covid and the recent election are my real worry.

i have also applied citizenship application on january 2019 for my whole family. Indian, SPR for 14 years in singapore. Childrens are studying singapore as well. (my spouse, my childrens and myself - 4 person total) but the status is still pending. dont know the reason also. its almost going to be 2 years.
