Maybe I am reading too much into it.
Contenders for the job, LW and OYK doesn’t seem to look quite as stellar now, especially from the online brickbats today and yesterday.

The most risk-averse one got the job. Can’t say I’m surprised, I would have preferred Ong Ye Kung or Tharman, but the latter wasn’t possible for obvious reasons.
