These GOP scheisskopf's in Texas insisted on having an indoor rally of 6,000 people, mask free, even though the speakers were only going to be there on video so that they wouldn't become infected. The mayor of Houston finally put a stop to this nonsense by ordering a cancellation.
The GOP has become a party of fools, cretins, and idiots. That the US numbers keep exploding is a direct result of trump's lack of action and his idiot followers believing this has everything to do with "rights" and nothing to do with medical intervention.

I have UK and American friends who genuinely believe the whole thing is an over-rated issue and a conspiracy.

Some really interesting data around on death counts in the USA.
"Two thirds of the deaths reported during the last week occurred more than four weeks ago. 6,617 deaths were reported this week, but only 302 of them actually happened during the last week. Real death rates (i.e., deaths by the weeks they actually happened) are declining, not increasing. What's happening is that the media is reporting the deaths reported in the past week as though they occurred in the past week. But in reality it takes many weeks for all of the death reports—including both confirmed and suspected cases—to come in."
