How much can someone extend a LTVP?

Post by roysg » Fri, 03 Jul 2020 9:42 am

Hi everyone,

We currently have an infant son who is on a LTVP (my wife and I are PR). His LTVP is only valid until March next year, but our current plans are not to remain in Singapore more than another ~2-3 years. I was wondering if it is possible to just extend his LTVP once or twice and have him stay here rather than apply for a PR for him and risk NS obligation down the line? If an LTVP is renewed, can the individual remain in Singapore as long as the pass is valid? or is there a maximum number of months in a year they can stay?

Thanks

Yes you can renew until he is 21. Yearly is possible.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I concur with PNGMK with the exception that you may well find your own re-entry permits rejected on renewal because they will see what you are doing. Milking the system with PR while refusing to subject your son to the NS obligation. This will be seen as a definite negative for you. Anything is possible from this point due to the economic conditions the country/world now finds themselves in.
