You are not allowed to Freelance on a PEP.liannee wrote: ↑Thu, 02 Jul 2020 9:27 amI'm currently considering moving to Singapore in 2021 under a PEP visa. I meet all the salary requirements for the visa, but I'm very curious if there are any restrictions about what kind of companies I can work for under a PEP visa. In order to maintain a salary that meets the requirement, I would need to work remotely for a US based company that has no business ties to Singapore and pays me in US $ to my American bank account.
Would this be allowed under the PEP visa? Would the US company I work for need to do any kind legal work/taxes/etc. for me to be working in Singapore?
Thank you in advance for reading this and helping me out!

Yes I've seen this done but usually it's with people who have a legal right of residence in Singapore that a foreign company wants to hire in Singapore. I am not sure they can actually provide a work permit as OP needs?veezzee wrote: ↑Sat, 18 Jul 2020 12:06 pmIf your employer is agreeable you could look for a 3rd party payroll/admin provider like Globalization Partners. One of my previous employer as a start up used them to hire me as they didn’t want to open a legal entity in SG as I was the first employee.
These services handle everything and employ you in SG on behalf of your existing employer and pay you here in SGD. They can do this for any country across the globe pretty much and in return they’ll bill your company every month. It’s very easy and flexible. Worth a look!
