This is one of the most popular topics and questions asked in the forum, so I thought we could consolidate some pointers for those who are seeking PR application and what are the points that are important to ICA.
Some points that could be useful..please add on if you can share.
1. Salary and position in company
2. Number of years working in Singapore
3. If you had studied in Singapore's education system ie: PSLE, O levels, A Levels
4. Any family ties in Singapore? ie: Mother is Singaporean
5. Industry that you work for (my guess is essential service sector probably most needed now, medical, transport, pharmaceutical)
6. Other contributions to the country
It is internally points based and the process is not revealed. But these are the factors
1. Race of the Applicant (to manage race ratio)
2. Age of the applicant (Low Or almost no weightage if over 40 under PTS)
3. Ties to Singapore (More points if spouse or parents are Singaporeans)
4. Country of Citizenship - Malaysians (Chinese, Indians or Malay) and Indonesian Chinese are preferred due ease of integration.
5. Length of (Continuos) stay in SG. At least 7 to 10 years in SG If applying under PTS scheme if the applicant is not Malaysian (or Indonesian)
6. Education/Degree (Usually degree where there’s a skill shortage carries more weightage). A Degree from Singapore University carries additional weightage.
7. Minimum Salary (above which it doesn’t matter. some one making 500k SGD or 200K SGD stand a similar chance)
8. Children (young Children who can contribute to SG not just NS but in general)
9. Skill set (usually where there is a shortage and ability to complement and not compete).
10. No previous criminal record (This is a mandatory pre-req)
11. No previous history of tuberculosis or HIV (This is a mandatory pre-req)
I hope this helps.
