Malls are not as busy as before

I visited the malls in Orchard as well as suburban mall and it seems quite quiet. I mean, as a shopper I enjoy less crowds, but did you also notice a thinner crowd than usual too?

And honestly, I do think safe entry to the mall is quite sufficient, not sure why we have to safe entry to every single shop as well. This probably deters people from even stepping out to shop.

With the kids in tow the only way to get some free time at the mall seems to be an hour of karaoke where I can pack two kids into a booth while I do...

Is it just one mall I went or happening to most malls? The malls seem to be very quiet on the weekend and also restaurants are mostly empty..or just...

I was quite surprised to see the malls and restaurants in the city rather quiet, many restaurants were barely half filled and even the retail shops...
