At the moment, I reckon just about zero. Until this virus thing has run it's course, I'd say just save your money. It's not going to happen anytime soon.

Other that being a single IT guy of which Singapore has more than enough of, we know absolutely nothing about you in order to give you a prognosis or guesstimate. In the near term, virtually nil unless you have something the gov't really needs. Like brain surgeons (looking at the covidiots out yesterday). Do a search of our threads in the archives and have a read to see what information is required for us to comment on.

Yeah, as SMS stated, unless you're some kind of IT prodigy, AI Wunderkind, Fintech sensation, or a complete cyber security genius, I reckon your chances are slim for the next couple of years.

I reckon not rocking the boat is your best option for the time being.

As other's have said zero chance. Most important thing right now is to hang onto your job, save money and upgrade skills.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

It used to be a given that if you were a Malaysian, you would automatically get your PR once you applied for it. In fact, until recently, the government used to push Malaysians on PR status here to get their citizenship. Reasons due to history and easy assimilation in Singapore, especially as most Malaysians here are Chinese ancestry.

Those days have passed. Malaysians are now facing hurdles getting PR status. You can imagine what it would be like for expats who are non-Malaysians trying to apply for PR status here.

Can anyone give any estimated time span for it if applicant is an expat.

PR application is assessed based on set of factors like age, ethinicity, education, work, salary, contribution to singapore, duration of stay in sg, family ties, etc

So with just the duration of stay in sg, no one can say what is your chance for PR
