Masks rules in Singapore?

Post by abbby » Tue, 02 Jun 2020 8:49 am

There is some confusion on the mask rules? I recalled seeing online that shields were allowed in lieu of face masks, but the next minute it was retracted and shields are only for ages 12 below and people with medical conditions?

So they can't really blame people who wear shields as they may have interpreted their message as shields are allowed. With the rules keep changing, it really confuses people.

Absolutely. Very poor message management which is a bit surprising for MOE/MOH (both were involved).

TBH, never understood the face shields. Those are good for preventing bulk liquid splash to eyes - blood and body fluids, liquid nitrogen.

You’ll never see these face shields used against influenza....which COVID is most similar to...

Side note, I think wearing the shield and with mask on is " ok " in public ? I saw one woman wearing it

She wear Mask also the shield. I think the law claim is those only wear Shield cannot wear in open space public.

Maybe is provided you also wear a Mask than on top with the shield than is " ok " in public because you have already cover your mouth with the mask.

The key is the mask. If she wears that then she can wear anything on her face. Obviously the mask needs to be worn correctly.
