Businesses are affected so badly

Post by abbby » Mon, 25 May 2020 11:44 am

I read online this morning, some business have to fork out $100,000 a month for staff, rental and vehicles and that they can't sustain after June. Another was yoga studio who has to pay high rentals a month...I feel for them, as some costs cannot be avoided paying. I can imagine all the months and years of efforts and profits that they have made are being used to cover these losses during Covid19.

It's a bloodbath and I think the gahmen is f....g this up. I have a horrible feeling they have become ensconced in their ivory towers and think they only need to save SIA (which is what their bailouts and support are aimed at) and maybe some MNC's and it will be ok. HELLO - many Singaporeans work for SME, tiny businesses that are already dead or dying. The unemployment figures are going to horrible when the come out for May.

Many SMEs, F&Bs' will be gone by the time covid19 is over. People have mouths at home to feed, not only they need to feed the ongoing rentals and wages, they also need to feed their families. With no revenue streaming in during these many months for them...I cannot imagine. And I believe there's going to be a surge in unemployment.
