Agree...and also masking up, discouraging of gatherings at friend's and meetups, work from home whenever possible, these are probably going to be the new normal for at least the next few months..

I fear suicide rates are going to eventually go up as seniors with very young grandchildren and are forbidden to interact with them. Only with one child and one grandchild from the same family - two from ONE family unit a day. Eventually those seniors will lose their will to live as the government is taking away their entire reason for existence. I hope it isn't so but the suicide rate may eventually be higher than the CV rate with seniors.

For my mother, who is 91 and FiL who is only a few years younger the main problem was they had to stay at home. Restrictions of the visits didn't help for sure, but for many really old folks a key factor is to exercise. Once they stay home and seat on the couch hardly moving the whole day long it is almost like a death sentence. They tried to do some brisk walking at home (brisk as per limited space) but now, after the restrictions were eased she already struggles to recover - weakness in her legs while walking.

Perhaps they might be relaxed sooner than expected if/when a vaccine is developed. Not sure how many people would prefer to take a new vaccine over complying with social distancing rules for a longer time though.
