LTVP help and guidance needed

Post by Piyorin » Wed, 20 May 2020 11:43 pm

I'm a singaporean chinese by birth
Currently 23
Monthly salary of 2300
I have a criminal record and stayed in jail for one week last year (theft case)

My husband is 29 japanese
He has had a EP last year which he also gaved up and went back to japan last year

We got married on December 19
Did not apply PMLA as we was thinking of migrating to japan instead

But now he's coming to SG on june 8th
2 weeks SHN in government facilities

Will my criminal record be any issue to his LTVP?
I really hope not

Hard to say. No idea, really. Good Luck though.

No. Pre-marriage long term visit assessment is quite self-explanatory already that you are supposed to apply for it before marriage.

Since you didn't, the LTVP processing time for your husband might take up to 6 months.

In the LTVP application, they will be asking your husband if he has broken the law/bankruptcy in SG, etc... I recently renewed my husband's LTVP and as his sponsor, I wasn't asked those questions but each application is unique and subjected to approval on a case by case basis. Another thing to take note is that your salary might be seen as on the low side because as a sponsor, you are supposed to be able to support yourself and your spouse.

Still, no harm applying for LTVP and keep your fingers crossed for the outcome.

I'm curious, is your husband entering Singapore as a short term visitor under special circumstances because he is a spouse of a Singapore citizen?
