Ok but what do you think of the person who dobbed them in?
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or
http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

I guess it makes sense given the times, but does seem pretty harsh.
I noticed one of the couples had been here for 14 years - children in local school etc.
I think their REAL mistake here was to "settle down" in Singapore on an Employment Pass.
Not a good strategy.
As an EP holder, you're a company sponsored transient business resident, essentially a faceless entity with zero rights, apart from 30 days to clear your apartment.
If they've been rejected earlier for PR, they should have made plans to leave Singapore eventually, however painful that might feel.
Harsh for sure, but Singapore is just not "that kind of place". Unlike many developed countries, there are no long term residency criteria beyond the black box of PR acceptance. There's physically no space here!
With PR being a fairly challenging goal post for the "Others category" (as per the usual criteria), I'm personally questioning whether it truly makes sense for this particular global demographic to settle & invest long term in Singapore going forward.
Very valid points and a lesson a lot of expats are learning in UAE and Kuwait and SSA etc

Two more retards charged.
Alfred Jon Veloso Waring and Olagunju Daniel Olalekan Olasunkanmi
The original naughty seven's sentences are due out today I think. I can hear pitchforks being sharpened all over Singapore.
I wonder what happened to these two.
According to news back in June [
https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/r ... it-breaker] they were due in court on 7 July, but unlike the 8 who got fined, there was no report.
They're both PRs so I'm guessing they were fortunate to be allowed to stay.
