EP Appeal: During the COVID 19 Circuit Breaker Period in Singapore

Post by thedesiboy » Fri, 15 May 2020 3:10 pm

Hey Guys, I got a Job Offer in Singapore and my Company had applied for my EP. It got rejected within 2 days and the reason given was because of the current Circuit Breaker measures. It also said, if the employee is already in Singapore, they can submit an appeal.

I am in Singapore and have been here since March. My Company has submitted the Appeal on 8th May 2020. Have any of you experienced the same? I have read online that the Appeal generally takes 3 weeks but since the circumstances are different, any idea how long it is currently taking for people?

Some additional info: I've had an EP previously (last year) in Singapore and after leaving my previous company, been on a 4 month gap before getting this new job.

Please share your experiences or any info you guys have. Thanks in advance! :)

You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

Hi Thanks for the reply. Yes, I've gone through the other posts too on this forum. Hope it gets approved fast.

During the 4 months gap, I was on a Tourist/Short Term Visit Visa but was travelling most of the time. Now, it's been about two and a half months since I have come back to Singapore (Staying with my Parents who work here too). I haven't left Singapore because of the current situation and no flights. Currently on my 2nd Tourist Visa extension.

Hope for the best! :)
