Can Covid numbers really come down?

Post by abbby » Mon, 11 May 2020 12:57 am

Since there are more than 200,000 foreign workers, won't it take couple of months for the high number of covid cases to come down? Theoretically speaking, if all 200,000+ will be tested. Meaning we'll still be expecting 500-800+ everyday for a few months. :???: :???:

No.

1000 per day (say) = 250 days!

But..... many have already had the virus (& recovered) so when we have an approved anti-body test we may be shocked at the percentage, both amongst migrants and wider community. My view it will remain at 700 or so for next couple weeks then gradually decrease down to say 30 per day until we have a vaccine.

That's a pretty long time to go...I presume definitely a few more months. Hopefully they can open up soon with most people still wearing masks and social distancing, because it's going to be at least another half year or so, if you consider the foreign work covid numbers still on the rise.
