Singapore Citizenship Application

Post by ambigous_vicinity » Sun, 10 May 2020 1:13 pm

Dear experienced expats,
Applied for the Singapore Citizenship last June (June 2019) for me and my family.

Rough Background:

-Indian, I'm in Supply Chain Management of a MNC, annual salary about 80k, wife is a housewife

-Have been staying in Singapore since 1997 (Got my PR around then)

-Wife came over and got PR around 1999,

-Two sons born in india, first in 1998 and the second 2004, both have PR, basically grew up here, went to Local schools all the way from primary education

-First son about to enter NS in June, applied for him under family since he was not yet 21 at the time of application (was 20)

-Only applied for first son, me and wife, did not want to apply for second son yet since he does want to go abroad, will see how that will go, unsure about him yet.

How do you think my application will fare? Been a good 11 months or so.. I'm quite confused with the family scheme since my son is already 21 and about to enter NS or will ICA consider age at the time of the application? Will the current COVID-19 pandemic and CB measures affect the processing time/outcome? Thanks Alot!!!

Chance may be low as personally I feel that you have not applied for citizenship earlier. Singapore may prefer to take in more younger citizens? If you are over 45, your chance might be low.

Also you have not applied for your entire family. So these are the negatives

Anyway there might be a low chance as you have been here for long.
