They didn't mention how these staff of different branches got infected? Could it be from the supply chain delivery person who delivers goods to McDonalds?
They didn't link them to anyone else.

At lease two of the employees working in two different locations happen to live together I read somewhere.

if not mistaken currently latest is 7 McDonalds staffs got infected.
