REP renewal for retired PRGraceEstherSusilo wrote:Hi all,
I am writing in on behalf of my parents and they would like to get some answer. Both my parents have been a PR for more than 30+years. And they will be renewing their PR real soon. Therefore, I would like to ask some enquires in regard to their situation.
My dad (67) is fully retired and plans to stay in Singapore. My mom (56) she's a full time housewife and she applied her PR as a spouse. During the renewal process, I came across the question.
"Are you working in Singapore?"
I can clearly say that my dad is not working anymore as he is fully retired but for my mom she's a housewife but at the same time she does go back and forth to Indonesia to take care of her parents.
My query will be:
1. Will my parents PR get renewed? With a reasoning of my dad as a fully retired senior citizen and my mom as a housewife who goes back and forth to Indonesia to take care of her parents?
Hence both of them come to Singapore very often especially my mom (she will come to Singapore every 2 weeks) I do hope that both of their PR will get renewed, as Singapore has been a home to us. And we do have couple of property in Singapore.
I hope to hear some feedback/reply regarding my enquiry.
1. Is your dad permanently residing in Singapore? Because one of your lines say, both of them coe to Singapore very often?GraceEstherSusilo wrote: ↑Mon, 16 Mar 2020 9:58 pmHi all,

2. My mom definitely more than 6 months. As my dad maybe about 5 months ish?
If father is the main applicant for PR, all assessments for REP renewal will be based on the father and not based on the mother ('s stay in singapore).bro75 wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Mar 2020 5:19 pmHard to say in your dad's case as he is out of Singapore more often than not in a year. Another criteria that the government mentioned is that if your dad has family members who are Singapore residents (PR or citizen) then it is a plus for renewal. Family members may mean spouse, children and grandchildren rather than siblings. Since your mom stays in Sg about half the time, it is hard to guess how the government will view it. How about you, what is your status in Singapore?
50-50 chance as he is not living in Singapore. If he was living in Singapore and Retired, should be straightforward. Did he serve NS?GraceEstherSusilo wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Mar 2020 6:43 pmTo answer my dad's PTS scheme, my dad got his PR through his Dad. He grew up in Singapore, went to poly here and have start a company but now it's closed.
Kindly update us on the REP renewal outcome. ThanksGraceEstherSusilo wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Mar 2020 6:43 pmTo answer my dad's PTS scheme, my dad got his PR through his Dad. He grew up in Singapore, went to poly here and have start a company but now it's closed.
Pending is because they need to do some more checks before they make a decision. Decision will MOSTLY be made in 1 - 14 days.GraceEstherSusilo wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Mar 2020 10:41 pmI've helped them renewed. Application is current pending.
