Re-entry Permit Renewal
Hi all,
I am writing in on behalf of my parents and they would like to get some answer. Both my parents have been a PR for more than 30+years. And they will be renewing their PR real soon. Therefore, I would like to ask some enquires in regard to their situation.
My dad (67) is fully retired and plans to stay in Singapore. My mom (56) she's a full time housewife and she applied her PR as a spouse. During the renewal process, I came across the question.
"Are you working in Singapore?"
I can clearly say that my dad is not working anymore as he is fully retired but for my mom she's a housewife but at the same time she does go back and forth to Indonesia to take care of her parents.
My query will be:
1. Will my parents PR get renewed? With a reasoning of my dad as a fully retired senior citizen and my mom as a housewife who goes back and forth to Indonesia to take care of her parents?
Hence both of them come to Singapore very often especially my mom (she will come to Singapore every 2 weeks) I do hope that both of their PR will get renewed, as Singapore has been a home to us. And we do have couple of property in Singapore.
I hope to hear some feedback/reply regarding my enquiry.

2. In the last 3-5 years, how long have each of them resided in Singapore continuously?

Does not matter at all. They granted PR based on your father's skill on the PTS Scheme
Chances for REP renewal will be very less if the main applicant is not permanently residing in SG
Re: Re-entry Permit Renewal
Hard to say in your dad's case as he is out of Singapore more often than not in a year. Another criteria that the government mentioned is that if your dad has family members who are Singapore residents (PR or citizen) then it is a plus for renewal. Family members may mean spouse, children and grandchildren rather than siblings. Since your mom stays in Sg about half the time, it is hard to guess how the government will view it. How about you, what is your status in Singapore?

If father is the main applicant for PR, all assessments for REP renewal will be based on the father and not based on the mother ('s stay in singapore).bro75 wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Mar 2020 5:19 pmHard to say in your dad's case as he is out of Singapore more often than not in a year. Re: Re-entry Permit Renewal
As for myself, I am a Singapore PR who have a full time job. But I believe my salary isn't high enough to be able to sponsor him which I feel this will be an issue. What I am most concern is with the reason I give, what are the % of being renewed?
Tonight I will be renewing their application. I hope that everything will go well.

To answer my dad's PTS scheme, my dad got his PR through his Dad. He grew up in Singapore, went to poly here and have start a company but now it's closed.

50-50 chance as he is not living in Singapore. If he was living in Singapore and Retired, should be straightforward. Did he serve NS?GraceEstherSusilo wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Mar 2020 6:43 pmTo answer my dad's PTS scheme, my dad got his PR through his Dad. Re: Re-entry Permit Renewal
Pending is because they need to do some more checks before they make a decision. Decision will MOSTLY be made in 1 - 14 days.GraceEstherSusilo wrote: ↑Tue, 17 Mar 2020 10:41 pmI've helped them renewed. Application is current pending.
