Holding E-PASS marrying SC

Post by aakash32017 » Mon, 09 Mar 2020 5:40 pm

Question: if I am holding E pass and GF is SC, would I still need LTVP? I am kind of confused.

background: Me and Gf filled PMLA and got LLE, i thought i would need to apply LTVP after marriage but some of the folks say dont need since i am already working here on E pass there is no need for me to convert it to LTVP rather after marriage i can apply PR directly?

So it means applying PMLA was no use? also how long would i need to wait before I apply PR after wedding cause we are planning on housing.

Thanks :)

If you are on an e-pass, then it is not totally necessary to have an LTVP. The advantage of an LTVP is that you are allowed to stay in Singapore with or without work. If you lose your job for any reason and cannot find any in the short term, then you should apply for the LTVP. I am not sure if it makes sense to apply for an LTVP when you already have an e-pass.

It is recommended to be married for 2 years before applying for PR because the chances are higher after that. An SC kid is known to increase the chances of PR too.
