The thing is that you typically only hear about the success stories. You often don't hear enough about the miscarriages and the pain associated with them, emotional and sometimes physical.
True, my close friend miscarried four times before finally conceiving through IVF. Was really heartbreaking seeing her break down time and time again.

Happened to us 3 times. We decided to adopt instead.

Wow… 10%? I’ve had friends conceive naturally at 43 even, had no idea how long the chances were. I only knew that fertility tends to taper off at 35
Yes it's that bad. The actresses and public figures have babies at 42 plus are probably using donated ova.
How can the baby still look like them though? Pretty sure most of the actresses were able to afford to freeze their eggs. Not sure how much that costs though, I’m sure it’s really pricey.
Same cost when an IVF couple freezes their embryo.

So lovely. How long has it been? Did you adopt a baby or an older child?

I see. Perhaps then, it’s that celebrities have the luxury of both time and money, they can afford to freeze their eggs much earlier on, ensuring both a better quality egg and higher chance of success since they can afford it sooner.

We adopted a baby - she was 3 weeks old when she came home and she's around 21 months old now. It has been a great experience so far. She's lively, keeps us all on our toes and is very well liked wherever she goes.

So nice, if you don’t mind me asking, where did you adopt her from? I had a friend in the US adopt a lovely boy from China 3 years ago, he was only a couple weeks old so he grew up with their family, really cute to see him pick up their mannerisms, no different from if he was their biological son, really settles the nature vs nurture debate for me.

She's adopted from Malaysia. Yes for sure, they pick up a lot from the environment around.

Lovely, and yes, it’s definitely more about environment factors than biological.
