REP Approval Chance
Hi all, I would like to ask sth about rep renewal. 22yo Female study business analytics degree abroad.
I got my pr in 2015 May and I am studying abroad my foundation. Once I am free to back Singapore, I work as freelance and also find an work at home job(pay in dollar) when studying abroad. I declay as self employed and pay income tax for 3 years. Currently received email for pr renewal but i heard that possibility to get approval is low because I am not staying in Singapore during that period.now my rep will be expired in May 2020 and I will be back in May 2020 before expired. What is the chance to get approval? Should I renew after I back Singapore and start working for a few months? Will ICA turn down my rep renewal?
Haiz now super stressed.. pls give me some advice

2017 May as foundation student
2018-2020 degree student
Doing work at home job for 3 years and pay income tax
Is this helpful to be considered as contribution Singapore and get approval for 1 or 5 years?

How much taxes did you pay for the last few years?shermainewong wrote: ↑Thu, 05 Mar 2020 12:48 am2017 May as foundation student

Come back to SG, get a job ASAP and start contributing to CPF and stay permanently in SG. You may get a 1 year REP first and if you continue to work and live in SG, you will be getting 5 years REP in the subsequent renewal.

Re: REP Approval Chance
I doubt that OP has paid any income taxes at all. As she is filing, in her words, as self employed, that means she is only paying medicare payments into CPF as I reckon she didn't earn enough to pay any income taxes at all. Additionally, It's most important to be gainfully employed the last two years of your REP. Based on what I see I have to agree with SF, you will, hopefully, get a 1 year REP and then it will be up to you to get sorted and work in Singapore for the next 5 years, else, the next time will probably be end of your REP.

Re: REP Approval Chance
Gross income (22000/year) hit the requirement for tax.
The voluntary OA and SA and Medisave as consideration I will be back Singapore working for long term.
Based on yall experience, the chance I get 1 year REP renewal or will be turn down as I not live in Singapore.

Re: REP Approval Chance
Will they refuse to give even 1 year
As the employment pass is getting restricted I afraid my REP also get rejected
Should I work 3 months first then apply for REP renewal?

Re: REP Approval Chance
there is a chance that they can even deny that 1 year also. Nothing is guaranteed, if you dont follow the rules/criteria. Why dont you come immediately, work here and get the 1 year, then continue and get the 5 year REP renewal?shermainewong wrote: ↑Fri, 06 Mar 2020 1:38 pmWill they refuse to give even 1 year![]()
