Hi everyone,
I am currently applying for PR for myself and my wife and wanted to see if you guys can give me some advice on my situation:
I am an American Chinese holding a PEP working for an american firm but living in Singapore. I draw a salary of approximately 27,000 SGD per month which has been completely derived outside of Singapore and have been tax exempted for the past two years that I have been here. I am wondering if that would be held against me in my application?
Further, I generated income from within Singapore this past year and will be paying tax on that (apparently personal income tax cant be paid until march 1st), should I wait to apply after I have made this payment?
Thank you guys in advance for any input you may have.

If you have not made 2-3 years of tax payments to SG, then what economic contribution can they consider from your side for assessing you for PR?ec777 wrote: ↑Thu, 20 Feb 2020 5:10 pmHi everyone,

I honestly don't know. I was hoping my education and salary would be considered a plus, I started doing business in Singapore last year hence the upcoming tax payment, perhaps the future outlook would be taken into consideration? Or do you think I have no shot?

If you have paid less than 2 tax year cycles in SG, you can forget it, unless you are a brain surgeon or a rocket scientist. They look at the application holistically, not just the education and salary. Future outlook in any profession is not guaranteed. It can work out well or fail. That is why SG will look into the applicant's past atleast a fair bit.ec777 wrote: ↑Fri, 21 Feb 2020 3:50 pmI honestly don't know.
