Chance to obtain a PR as a single French 33 years old, 4 years under EP.
Chance to obtain a PR as a single French 33 years old, 4 years under EP.
Hi everyone,
I have a question. I want to apply now for PR. Here my situation:
- French
- 33 years old
- Single
- 4 years in SG under EP
- Salary : 8500 sgd / month
- Can get recommandation from a Singaporean pastor.
- In current conflict with my company, so can not get their support for a recommandation letter.
What you think of my chances in 2020 February?

Extremely low. Of the ~30,000 PR granted per year less than 2% go to caucasians and most of those I suspect go to married couples with children.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.
You've been arrested? Law Society of Singapore can provide referrals.
You want an International School job? School website or http://www.ISS.edu
Your rugrat needs a School? Avoid for profit schools
You need Tax advice? Ask a CPA
You ran away without doing NS? Shame on you!

You will need your employer to sign off on annex A which is part of the application process. Without this, there's no application if I'm not wrong. In current conflict with my company, so can not get their support for a recommandation letter.

I was also wondering about my chances
Profile:
Single
Male
27
Caucasian
3 years in Singapore
EP of 4500 monthly salary
My fiancee is Malysian Chinese and on an EP. She is 25. Are my chances better if we apply together as a married couple? Or even if she gets PR and then sponsors me in a year or two.
Thanks!

Each case is unique of course, but I have acquaintances who work in banking in similar circumstances as you and they earn 10k+ a month and didn't get their PRs approved.jwoods1864 wrote: ↑Fri, 07 Feb 2020 9:40 pmI was also wondering about my chances

Would be interested to hear your outcome.
If am not wrong, PRs can't "sponsor" for PR applications. They can only sponsor for LTVPs

PRs can sponsor their spouse and children for PR.

Well I decided to go ahead and apply a few weeks ago. I know my chances are V low.
Are these friends of a similar age or are they older?

Similar age to you but different ethnicities.jwoods1864 wrote: ↑Tue, 07 Jul 2020 4:56 pmWell I decided to go ahead and apply a few weeks ago. I know my chances are V low.

I would say just looking at your profile you probably have a low chance of getting PR on your own.
Your ethnicity is against you. You are competing against all the bankers who have come over on their higher salaries. I think normal mid level people at banks get between 10-15k.
You haven't been in Singapore very long.
What field do you work in? Is it something that Singapore has a plan for - like complex data analytics, FinTech or the like?
If your fiancee gets PR, and then you apply off her, then the chance are increased (but you would still likely face the ethnicity issue).
Now what you will want to ask us is: what are the chances your fiancee will get it are?

We will need additional information such as salary, length of time in Singapore, education.

Education related sector so I don't think it will do much for me really as far aa making much of a difference regarding my chances.
If stay in the sector but somehow get a job more governmental I.e. MOE rather than private, my chances might be one percent higher haha?
Probably not.
She is a nurse at SGH.
Did her diploma at local polytechnic and currently doing degree.
LOS- cerca 6 years
Age 25
Malaysian Chinese
Salary around 3200 monthly.
I would imagine she has a pretty good chance. But as u said even if she sponsors me it would still be unlikely. Nonetheless, slightly higher at least.

I think her nationality and ethnicity are her strongest points. The fact she doesn't have a degree yet *may* weigh against her.jwoods1864 wrote: ↑Mon, 14 Sep 2020 8:56 pmEducation related sector so I don't think it will do much for me really as far aa making much of a difference regarding my chances.

In her case, given the gahmen's inclination for Chinese Malaysians, I would suggest she applies anyway.
I think it's better that she applies separately to you, as alone she probably stands a better chance.

I don't think he can apply off her if they are not married.TropicalExpat wrote: ↑Mon, 14 Sep 2020 8:46 pmSimilar age to you but different ethnicities.jwoods1864 wrote: ↑Tue, 07 Jul 2020 4:56 pmWell I decided to go ahead and apply a few weeks ago. I know my chances are V low.

Sorry. I meant, they get married and then he can apply off her PR.smoulder wrote: ↑Mon, 14 Sep 2020 9:17 pmI don't think he can apply off her if they are not married.TropicalExpat wrote: ↑Mon, 14 Sep 2020 8:46 pmSimilar age to you but different ethnicities.jwoods1864 wrote: ↑Tue, 07 Jul 2020 4:56 pmWell I decided to go ahead and apply a few weeks ago. I was making the internal link that they would get married.
