hey guys, I am new to the forum. found this interesting thread while stressing myself unnecessarily for my PR chances (pending for a while now). Here it goes:

Age : 36
Race : Indian
Gender : Male
Marital Status : Married. Wife is working
Kids: 1 son - 3 yrs old
Religion : Hindu
Education : Bachelor of Engineering
Current Field of Work : Software Sales
Work Exp: 14 years
Length of stay : 12 Years
No of tax return : 11 or 12
Salary : Basic 150K
Pass : EP
Applied Previously: 5 times - rejected everytime - always applied together as a family
Any application pending: Yes, since Aug 2019 - together with family

I have started imagining things but maybe the rejection is delayed just due to COVID. what do you think? appreciate your views.

Positives : length of stay

Negatives :
1. occupation where there are lot of residents in sales
2. Ethnicity
3. Rejected many times already
4. Engineer but in sales

Chance is going to be very low

@singaporeflyer appreciate the honest feedback. helps me in not overthinking too much. I do agree, it will be foolish to hope for an approval this time when it hasnt happened before. Just that the realization makes me sad now after spending such a long time here. Anyways, one difference that i noticed this time was a letter I received somewhere in Feb 2020, asking for further details of my parents and in laws. All other times in the past it was plain rejection after 3-8 months duration.

You can apply and see. Because on one side there are many residents who are auditors and CA in SG, but if you wait for a few more years, your age may become a problem. So you can go ahead and try. You may have around 35-45% chance.

Why not move to a PEP and try after 6 months after it?

Thanks a lot for your advise, does PEP carry some additional weightage over EP while applying for PR? if this is the case, then will obtain PEP first and then apply for PR
